10:11 am - Hiding in here
So, it's pretty obvious after 2.5 years that I don't hang around here anymore. Saddly, and which much self-loathing, I went to myspace and set up shop there. Mind you, I update that page just about as much as this one. If you really wanna visit me, click on the pretty girl below and that will take you to my gaia page.

If you're not a gaia member, send me an email and I'll send you an invite.

03:32 am - Hear it not, heaven, thy ministers have done it.
Wow, I went invisible for a while. Well, I'm visible again, but not for long. Just a quick update.

*For the vote-whoring I was doing, I got creamed in the semi-finals, but it's given me an idea on what types of audio auditions I'll be able to produce for legitimate business endevors. Since then, I've been venting my creative urges in making fine jewelry http://www.fireflyfans.net/sunroomitem.asp?i=4878 and, as always, abusing the hell out of my Sims (which I'd show you, but for some reason I can't get the link to load)

*Work sux, but you all already knew that. So far I am not too terribly disillusioned about my position, but apparently I can go back to Gamestop and earn the same amount if I felt so compelled. So far, no such inclination. Ah, if only money were unneccesary, or if we won the lottery ...

*It's official: we have a roof, and siding, and a garage. The new house is going up quite nicely, we should be moved in between thanxgvn and xmas. About that same time I should be near finishing with the bone graft surgeries so Ryu and I can start saving for our log cabin. Hurrah!

*Not that any of you really give a ninja's black-clad ass, but I just beat FF IX with no cheat codes, YAY! Now I'm working on FFX because I'm bored and need to do something to keep my mind off all the idiots I gotta deal with at work whilst I'm trying to sleep. Speaking of which, that's something I should probably be doing now.

Oh, and for everyone out there: 10 DAYS UNTIL SERENITY!!!! (if you don't go see it, your immortal soul will be damned to a level of hell where they make you watch the first season of Survivor over and over and over ... without censoring the oldman penis!!!!!!!)

07:11 pm - First, shalt thou take out thine holy pin. Then shalt thou count to 3.
3 shall be the number of the counting, and the number of the counting shal be 3. 4 shalt thou not count, neither count thou 2, unless thoust continuing on to 3.

http://www.sizzlefizzle.com/net10e/contest_main.asp?rTabSlct=2&rContestId=34&rMatchName=Match+1&rMatchType=Semi-Final

FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT'S UNHOLY, VOTE FOR MEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! I've made it to the semifinals in this little auditon (which I did not expect after hear the first person I competed against). Other than that, not much going on in the life of kitties. Work's good, though I find myself working a lot, home is good. Jo just had her baby Joshua, 7lb and some change, and he looks just like Kerri. Liz, ain't heard from you in a bit, where you at? Nothing else to report, really, just busy with work and stuff. Oh, and I think the drugs the doc put me on for nerve regrowth in my bottom jaw is building up in my system cuz I'm starting to go a little psycho all of a sudden. Fun.

Oh, and the bastard of a district manager from GS is about to get his bastard as fired. YAY! I haven't worked there in almost a year, I don't know why that makes me happy. Maybe cuz he fired Kenny, Eron, and Phil for such bullshit reasons. Or maybe cuz he's a sexist, racist son of a deranged tapeworm. Who knows. Meh.

And for those of you who give a good gorram: less than a month until Serenity!!!!!

06:14 pm - Takest thou thy holy handgrenade and lobbest at thy foe, who, being not in my sight, shall snuff it.
Well ... yes so, here's what's been going on: new job is going well, although one of the guys I work with given me the jagies. Might havta kill him later, we'll see. Also, if everyone takes a cig break all at once one more time, I may have to do something involving green jell-o and expensive shoes ... or underpants, I can't decide which. But nonetheless they let me play with expensive cell phones all day and pay me pretty decent doing it, so yay for me.

Other news: I've finally broke down and decided to pay all the back taxes on the acre on the farm that will be in my name the first instant it's legally possible. I apparently put off the check writing so long the county started sending dude final notices.

I've read the 6th harry potter book twice, Andy and I bought two copies at midnight on the release night (two hours after I got home from Jersey). It kicks a lot of ass, but is also very sad. Can't wait for the next one.

Haven't seen any movies in a long time. Ryu got constantine for his bday, but we had already seem that twice in the theater. We also got the first volume of Witch Hunter Robin, Saw, and the special edition Dark Crystal, but we haven't watched them yet. Also bought Final Fantasy Chronicals (sorry Dave) cuz I got tired of playing Chrono Trigger on my computer. Problem is, with that gorram hard drive on my PS2 the load times are terrible. I really need to turn that sucker in and get a slim, but I figure it can wait until after the surgeries. Besides, the PS3 comes out soon and Ryu wants that or the 360 cuz of the Darkness game. Men.

While in Massachusettes I bought myself a pretty http://www.laceylady.com/nene_2005/fairycat1.jpg isn't it purty? I don't know where I'll put it in the new room, but we'll come up with something. I figure in two or three years time Ryu and I can put away enough money to build our house without putting ourselves horribly in debt, and in the meantime we'll have our loft.

That's about all that's going on the the catslair.

04:50 pm - Greetings from Jersey
That's right, Jersey, as in New. Sure I said I was gonna be in Phili, guess I lied. Actually I was lied to. Or rather "misinformed". Meh, whatever; either way I'm still in NJ. Thinking about stopping off at Jay and S.Bob's Secret Stash whilst I'm here. That would be shiny.

In other news, not much going on. Been on the road since 8:00A friday morning. PA, NY, Mass, NY, NJ. Sounds like fun, right? Well, wonder of wonders my car actually passed inspection for the second year in a row, and I didn't havta bribe the mchanic or nothin. That's gotta be some kinda record. Looks like the catmobile is here to stay.

New job training is going ok, one major downside tho: can't have my phone with me at work EVER. So when my contract is up I'll probably buy a verizon phone to avoid that little problem. The N-gage is starting to wear thin anyways.

So that's aboot it for now.

11:52 am - The things I'll do to drive for two hours
Well, new news is new, good or bad notwithstanding. Here's the latest from the cat's lair:

I'm changing jobs cuz I've a hair's breadth away from another nervous breakdown and it seems like a good idea at this time. Ten-hour days sitting at a desk turns out not to be as fun as advertized, so I'm joining Mel as an outsources cell phone tech starting July 11 (during a week long training session in Philadelphia). I'm also picking up a few work-at-home market research jobs to fill in the $1/hr loss I'll be taking.

In other news, the husband and I trying to take a vacation while I'm between jobs, maybe a night or two in VA Beach. Normally, I say nay to anything that involved copious amounts of sunlight, but we haven't been to the beach during the summer in 3 or 4 years (sure, we went to Mertle Beach for our honeymoon, but the water was REALLY cold - not that that stopped us or anything).

On the homefront, I am determined to finish Moonlight Shadows before next Summer Solstice so I can start cracking on B.L.O.O.M and maybe an instructional magic book (still working that one thru). Eventually, after the surgeries are done I'm gonna start picking up some voice over jobs to fund the costs of getting something published. Housing costs won't be an issue for a while, the in-laws are looking to move soon and they're looking for a house with an apartment space above the garage for us. I really lucked out in the in-law department :)

Also, insomnia is bad. My brain is gonna break from insomnia. Last time my brain broke was bad, best not to let it happen again.

Oh, and we saw Serenity last Thurday. Kicked ass, except for who dies

05:33 pm - It's just like Oj, except not
Its' a mark of how mature people are when they skip out of their job to hide out in the breakroom waiting of the verdict of an indited celeb. Lame.

In other news, I actually went out on a social outing last night ... without my husband, for the love of pete. Mel and some of her homies from work and I went to PuttPutt and punished each other on DDR, violent video games, and the go karts. It was interesting/distubing being out having fun without the hubby while he was out with his homies having fun without me. still, I kicked the usual amount of ass on ddr and marvel/capcom. Yay for me (except for the fact that my feet and joystick-hand hurt like hell).

On a less painful note, I've been looking into picking up a few voice-over jobs on the side. The only problem is that I don't have any recording equipment and the virtual agent wants $195 for me to answer any of the number job postings they keep sending to my email box. I need to get a real agent. *sigh* I'm also looking into other alternative permanent employment (more to follow on that front after my brain stops hurting)

06:09 pm - Purple elephants are flying
I feel bad. Really really bad. I was driving to work this morning and I passed a broke-down truck 2 lanes over, and, as I passed it, my brother Big Mike walked out from under the hood. At that point i was too far down the road to pull over (I was getting on the ramp from 150 to 76). So I feel really rotten cuz he's my homie and I haven't seen him since Liz was dating Steve. I thought about calling highway patrol to help him out, but then I remembered his affinity with herbal refreshment. Also, another car had already stopped to help. But that doesn't make me feel any less like a total bitch. I'm a bad kitty =\_/=

Yup, that my suckiness of the day.

06:12 pm - objects in space
Well ... here I am. Two weeks and two bottles of codine ago, I went in for the first of (hopefully) three surgeries to reconstruct the front of my face. All went well and the doc says the bone grafts will most likely take just fine. Unfortunately, due to the nature of my screwed-up neurocardio system and the fact that I got a stomach flu whilest I was recooperating, I've only been to work for 3.5 hours in the past two weeks. Yay. Still got paid for it, which is good, but it means I don't have any sick time until July, which is ok cuz I don't intend on getting sick again for a while anyways. Stayed home from work today just for good measure because the 3.5 hours I was there yesterday were quite painful.

Allow me to elaborate. As I have stated before, the doc who treated me in the emergancy room after the accident put a whole bunch of expensive artificial tissue and bone grafts in the injury instead of my real teeth like he should have done. Most of that stuff fell out over the following two weeks, which was one of the least pleasant experiences of my life, especially after the doc tried to use stitches to keep it all from falling out even though it was dead tissue. As a result, when my surgeon went to prep the remaining bone surface in my upper jaw for the grafts that were cut from the inside of my chin, he found all manner of dead nastiness and infection. To appreciate the severity of the ickiness, may I remind you it's been nearly 6 years since the accident. That's 5.5 years that craps been in there. Ew.

Since the surgery was so invassive and required more stitches than I care to count, I'm still having a lot of pain and stiffness in my bottom jaw from the donation of bone chunks and gum tissue, and on the top jaw from the stitches that STILL haven't dissolved and the general throbbing in the vicinity of the bone and tissue grafts.

And let me tell you how fun it is having a vomitous stomach flu with fresh surgical wounds in your mouth. Although, Mary did make a valid point: at least my jaw wasn't wired shut this time.

On the upside, gonna try to see Star Wars tomorrow. Yay for Wookies.

Also, Lego Star Wars is a VERY good video game.

And screw you Nokia for not announcing a new, better NGage at E3.

12:43 pm - Mal. Bad. ...in latin
not much new news. But what news there is is new. For those of you who don't know, our dear Mel is getting married (finally) and has asked me to be her Matron of Honor. We're currently trying to find a better word than matron, cuz it makes me sound all old and stuff. But I'm probably the most qualified (logistically speaking), having recently gotten married and all.

She and I went DDRing Saturday and I, ONCE AGAIN, crippled myself by playing too hard. I pulled muscles in both feet, mostly in the arch muscle group. So ow. Saw Sin City, saw Sahara, both rocked. Although they did manage to cut a really good line out of Sahara that they showed in the trailers, but oh well, it'll be on the directors cut.

In other non-news: the website where I get my puppets just released a new model that is just precious.
http://www.fantasypuppet.com/Images/Gargoylefront.jpg
and it's a great deal less expensive than the Revontulet. Still not a feasible expenditure right now, but something to work toward while Sony gets to bugs out. and speaking of bugs (not really, but we'll pretend we were; damn spinikers cockroaches), all my GameStop homies need to watch this vid:
http://www.hcn.zaq.ne.jp/cabic508/rsf/frame1.html
It's not so much funny as it is sad that someone put so much effort into such a strange thing. Also, it's more that 20 minutes long and doesn't make much sense, but they abuse the NeoGeo Pocket ruthlessly, so that makes it good.

08:10 am - yet again it's Saturday and there's nothing on the internet
I miss cartoons. The only decent cartoons that aren't sindicated and are worth watching aren't originally made in the USA and don't come on in the morning. Not that I get to watch tv in the morning, but it's the principle that counts.

So news for the day: I've decided not to buy a PSP just yet. Research on the boundless internet has yielded reports of reasonably correctable defects that sony is currently fixing for future models of the unit. Still, I got to play w/ one at GS the other night and it's REALLY shiny. So once sony improves the umd latch, the square button issue, the lcd screen problem, and makes the screen not quite so shiny I'll be the first in line.

Concurrently, I won't be buying the puppet either. Given that I have to have major reconstructive surgery next month and there is a distinct possiblity that I will have to pay out a great deal more than my $30 copay, I think counting pennies is in order at this point. If all goes well with the series of bone grafts, tissue reconstruction, and metal implants that will continue to set off the metal detectors at Kings Dominion (but not at the airports, disturbingly enough), my upper jaw will be completely repaired by Ryu and my first wedding anniversary. It will have been 6 year since the accident this September. Damn AMC. I've said this before and often, but I will say it again: if you're ever in the Shannondoah area and need medical attention, DONT GO TO Augusta Med Center. If you gotta go somewhere, go to UVA, it's only another 10-15 miles. AMC is as much responsible for my accident in the first place as MBC's crappy R&B policies. A little known fact to those of you who actually give a goddamn: a week or two prior to the accident I was in the hospital for low blood preasure, dehydration, dizzyness, and loss of sight. Of course, all AMC did was pump me full of fluids and imply that I shouldn't drink so much (which is a ridiculous statement given I barely drink now that I'm legal). But I digress.

Given the airspeed velocity of an unladen european swallow, I was hoping typing a long posting would pass the lonely minutes of a saturday morning at work. somehow, it doesn't seem to be working. *sigh*
oh well, gameboy time.

07:56 pm - Were there monkeys? Some terrible space monkeys maybe got loose?
Three topics of note today (or rather, since the last time I posted):

1: my younger sister is pregnant with her third child. No doubt the attorny ad lidem for Kerri will use this baby against her in court like she does Jayson. Still, it's no less an occasion for jubilation.

2: corperate america is making the world less and less safe for intelligent children. WB has desicrated the last great territory in animation by deciding Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and the Tazmanian Devil are no longer good enough for the next generation and have turned them into something well and truely lame.
http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/news/02172005_ent_loonatics.html
They all need to die.

3: true story: I was chillin on a couch in the break room at work during my lunch break the other day. On the other couch was a nice lady crochetting something pink and frilly. At one point during our passive conversation she dropped her loosly-wrapped ball of yarn and I came THIS close to pouncing on it. Thankfully, some part of my brain remembered that that'd be PRETTY hard to explain to the boss.

And on a side note, I got the paperwork today for the surgeries to finally set my face right. Once I can get everything in order I can start the first of four procedures that will allow me to have normal eating habits. Yay for progress.

12:12 pm - it never hurts to help ... no, wait apparently it hurts a lot
less than 12 hours until my bday and I am in more pain then I care to think about. But I'm at work and making money like a productive member of society. The reason for my exuberant amount of discomfort is the inate need to express myself thru violence while concurrently accomplishing a resonably efficient and beneficial goal. ie, in this case, clearing a new paddock and building a new barn for the goats. I'd probably be a little better off if I hadn't volunteered to wield the electric finger-chopping toy. Turns out the thing was better at finger-chopping than weed and briar chopping, so I switched to a dull machete and a modified-sye. Enter the painful use of muscles which have apparnetly atrophied terribly in recent years. I sayth unto you all: ow. I was not aware I had so many different muscle groups in my lower back until they all started hurting at once. Not to mention hundreds of little tiny cuts from the thousands of giant briar stalks that took exception to my trying to kill them and tried to kill me back. Long story short: ow, owie, and more ow, but we got a new barn up and all things considered had a good and productive day off. The goats are certainly enjoy the briars more than I did. Well, it's back to the grind for me, still got another 8 hours to go here at work and then it's home to nurse my and my husband's battle wounds. Oh yes, and to all my gamer readers out there: as a rule I wouldn't recommend Baten Kaitos. It's pretty and the plot is good in theory, but the execution is not so great, there are no FMVs (so far), the voice acting is pretty close to terrible, and the RPG-isms make me wanna spit nails ("you have wings! why can't you jump over a 3 foot gap containing ankle-deep water?!"). However, the card-based combat system is more challenging than the attack system in Legends of Dragoon, the puzzels are genuinely challenging without being insane like in FFX, and you can see your random encounters, which is always a plus. So there's my random video game review of the month.

Well, we've survived another xmas w/o incident. Although Mary may never forgive me for not bringing the perogies. I swear there wasn't any to be had in the gorram city. Anywho, got the plague, got lots of pretties, got an extra day off work for having no voice, so yay. Bought mysekf an early bday present: finally got me a decent computer that I didn't have to build or modify (much). Liz, your present is gonna be kinda really late. I lost the impetus I had when I was in the planning stages and I need to start again once I'm off the plague-medicine. MBC babes: I totally forgot to mail you guys' presents until just now. I have no excuse, I blame the drugs. In other news, no snow in Richmond, but VA Beach got 14 inches
(not fair). Little Jayson Riley identified me by name yesterday without prompting (of course, he's still not really talking so I didn't understand anything after he said Aunt KiKi). The new job is going well, but I'm having problems with my lower back again. And the effect of gamma-rays on man-in-the-moon marigolds will have no chance to survive make your time.

Yes I'm still alive. No I don't know where the remote is. Did you check in the kitchen? You always leave it near the fridge. What's that llama doing? Get him away from the toaster. He'll go blind doing that. I wouldn't suggest having toast tomorrow. My food is problematic. And by the way, I can kill you with my brain.

In case you didn't notice, I've been watching too much Firefly, when I have time to watch anything. The only reason I have the mental impotus to update my lj is because it's a bit too early to go to bed and too late to abuse my sims. Well ... no ... maybe not. I think I can a good party-slaughter in before bedtime.

In other news, new job is going well. I still get yelled at occasionally, but no one swears. So yay for things going smooth. Still don't really know what the hell I'm doing, but as long as I keep on my radio-voice, the rich old men don't mind. I'll actually be in my own desk and work space by the end of this week and boy do I have plans for my 3.5 4foot tall walls. Don't I sound like a cubicle-whipped pussy. Must watch Teen Titans, will make all things better. Can't find any Teen Titans sims. Bummer. Lunar was sick, had an alergic reaction to her flea collar and treatment, but she's all better now. One of the kittens that was living in our shed last winter is back and full grown. She looks alot like Tiddy. She sits on the back deck every now and again to destroy the trash and make fun of Lunar. Poor Lunar.

I'm coloring my hair black again, with blue streaks if I can pull it off. That's my bday present to myself, instead of a nose ring. That comes later. Maybe a tattoo with my tax return, after I've paid the property tax on my grad present (okaa wa heki). First, xmas presents.

I hate early mornings. New job is ok so far except for the whole having to get up by 6:30 AM thing. That's only until I finish training in three weeks, but still, that and the 45min communte kinda sux. On the up side, they just opened a new highway that allows me to bypass most of the commuter trafic, but I still have to drive through the "everyone is trying to kill you traffic" of Broad st. Where's a gorram cop when you need one. Anywho, the way traffic is around here you'd think there was a tidalwave coming. Jezzy Crezzy people around here can't drive. Anywho, happy day of celebration of the beginning of the mistreatment of the native peoples of this fucked up country.
